Update . . .

Well yesterday she took a 3 hour nap, didn't surprise me after the little sleep she had the night before. I was really hoping that she would feel better after she woke up but her temp was 102.9.  She hasn't thrown up at all since the hospital but can't seem to fight the fever. She went to bed late last night and woke up this morning with a fever of 101.

She is down for a nap again and I'm hoping this time when she wakes up it'll be completely gone. I spoke to a nurse and she said "if it hasn't gone down by tomorrow then come in." I'm sure she'll be fine but I asked the nurse about the Swine Flu she said "I know they closed a school in Corona because they think someone has it but the tests haven't come back yet (takes 2 to 5 days) and she would have to of had contact with someone that has had it. " (It's not like it's hard to have contact with someone that is sick) There's a ton of people at grocery stores, Wal Mart, Target or wherever else I take her.  She also said "Swine flu is viral so it's not like there's antibiotics to give her. " Basically, she'd have to ride it out. Thanks for the encouragement!

On a positive note, she is happy and wants to play. With a father's blessing, some rest, and fluids, I'm sure she'll be good to go soon!

104 temp

So yesterday was kind of a scare for me. I think it was more of a scare because of the whole Swine flu going around. I've been staying updated with what's been going on and I know sometimes the media can be overly dramatic but because it's at a Phase 4 (now Phase 5) and we are so close to Mexico, kind of scary. Jocelynn woke up from a nap yesterday with a cough, runny nose and feeling tired. I took her temperature and it was 101. Although it was 101 she was playing and happy. I could tell she was still not herself though. She had a good appetite for dinner and when I put her to bed she went right to sleep.

I should have given her Tylenol before bed but because she wasn't complaining much I didn't. The mother's intuition was kicking in. I told James before bed, "should I sleep in her room?" I could not go to sleep, I just was concerned that she wasn't okay. It was almost midnight and I lay awake in my room. All of sudden I hear her cough and then she's throwing up,  I run in her room and don't have my glasses on but there's throw up everywhere and it's red! I should not have read about the Swine Flu before bed because it made me paranoid. I said "James she's throwing up blood!" My calm husband says, "Jennifer, it's watermelon!" Oh! She was sweating and shaking. I hated the feeling of feeling hopeless and not being able to make her feel better. She just kept throwing up and I took her temperature and it was 104. I called my mom. We could have just waited it out but because her temp was so high I got scared so we went in to the hospital. They gave her a big Tylenol pill in her rectum! I felt so bad for her but her temperature went down immediately. They said they needed to give her a catheter to see if she has a urinary tract infection. I was thinking" Dang it!" I had to hold her down while they did this and it was the worst!

After a couple of hours, they just sent us home. It was reassuring though to know she'd be okay. I'm grateful to have insurance! She finally fell asleep at 230am. She woke up at 6am and then fell back asleep till 10am. She woke up with a temp of 101 but at least it is down. I don't know how parents do it with sick children. I have been blessed that Jocelynn has been a healthy child. We've been home all day and I think I have sanitized my home up and down!!  She's had a long nap so I'm hoping she'll feel back to herself when she wakes up . . .I'll keep you posted.

Beach!!!

Tuesday we went to the beach with my good friend Melinda and her kids. Thanks for inviting us Melinda! It was a perfect day for the beach! Jocelynn is looking out at the waves in this picture.
The girls played with the sand toys! It was so hot outside!
I love this picture of Jordyn! She looks so cute.
Jocelynn didn't mind the water too much. She got used to it a little bit  . . .until a wave got her in the face :( I can not wait for the summer!!!
Here's cute Rylin and her friend, Addy!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Monday was my mom's birthday! This year she gets in free so we went for the evening! We had a great time! The wait wasn't long to go on the rides!
Jocelynn loves Dumbo!!
This is in Minnie Mouse's house.
For some reason, Jocelynn got a little scared when we got on the boat for "It's a Small World!" When she saw the people and heard the music, she loved it!
We love you Mom! Thanks for letting us spend your birthday with you! We had a great time.  She gets to return for free in 30 days so lets make sure we go!

Nursery

It's hard to believe Jocelynn has started Nursery. At church, when the kids turn 18 months, they go into Nursery until they are 3. This is the last two hours of church. The first hour in Nursery they play with toys. The second hour they have snack, singing, lesson, coloring and storytime. Jocelynn enjoys it but didn't do to well last week. I'm thinking because we just got back from Wyoming and her schedule was all thrown off. We'll see how she does next week.
Here are the kids eating snack. We also had her year and a half appointment. She is
Weight: 25 pounds (65% percentile)
Height: 31 inches (50% percentile)

She also got two shots. It was so sad :(

Spiritual Experience!

The way home from Wyoming I had a spiritual experience that I thought I'd share. When we left Wyoming, it was 4am in the morning.  We were making great timing and the kids were being really good. We stopped in Cedar City and let the kids play at McDonalds. We decided to leave and I noticed my temperature gage was going up and was almost in the red zone. I thought "Oh man!!!" I immediately pulled over. I was remembering the 88 Camry, Mazda, and Jessica's Saturn that has overheated as I was in the car.  My dad would always come to my rescue and he has shown me plenty of times where to put the coolant. I have to admit though, I was nervous and scared being so far away from home. Rachel called her dad and we decided to go to a gas station.

I was praying so hard.  I thought how are we going to do this?? We are 7 hours away from home and we have three little kids in the car.  I popped the hood and a car pulls up and a man stepped out. I explained to him what happened and he reassured me that what we were doing was correct. I felt comfort and peace. He was an angel sent to us and I was SSSOOO grateful. I filled my reserve tank and after it had cooled off went to put coolant in the main part . . .but it was full! I thought to myself, "we've done all we can, maybe it's something else!" It's in the Lord's hands, lets keep driving. I was pleading with my Heavenly Father to watch over us to get us home safely!! We continued to drive and immediately it went up again. I was watching the temperature gage like a hawk, making sure it did not go into the red zone.  For almost 2 hours I drove my car like that. I felt comfort though, I knew we'd be okay. We stopped at McDonalds again and when we went back into the car and the rest of the drive home, it was like nothing ever happened!

When we got home I made sure I continued to thank my Heavenly Father. I mostly thanked him for sending the Holy Ghost to comfort me. He sent me an angel, he comforted me, he got us home safely, and the kids were wonderful.

I took my car in on Monday and there was a leak in the water pump! There's nothing that isn't possible to overcome with Jesus Christ by our side!

Wyoming

Last week my sister and the kids had Spring Break from school. My sister in law Rachel and I drove up there to hang out for the week. I was nervous to drive up there with a one year old, two year old, and three year old but we were just going to take our time. The drive was not bad. We stopped every couple of hours. The way home was a lot better. We had a good time hanging out. It snowed which was fun to play in. Jocelynn wasn't sure about it but overall didn't mind it. She liked the way it tasted though :) Her and Jaeger hung out a lot this week. I didn't get many pictures but here's few.
Jocelynn really just stood around staring at the snow. It was kind of funny.
She kept saying "snow, snow!" It was fun for her to actually see it.
Micah's birthday was that week. It was a Hulk Birthday. He is 6 years old. It was fun to be able to be there. His friends are pretending they are Hulk. Micah is in the middle with a green shirt on.
Jocelynn loves Jordyn!

This video was funny because Jaeger was eatting snow and JOcelynn decided to follow him!

Easter

Easter was fun this year. Jocelynn had a good time finding the Easter eggs. After church we went to my mom's house and she went looking for hidden Easter eggs.

She loves to play the piano with my grandma.

Wild Animal Park

Saturday April 11, we went to the Wild Animal Park. Jocelynn can identify her animals now so we thought it would be fun for her to see them in person. It was so much fun. My mom came with us! Jocelynn loved the carousel ride.
I was surprised that she loved the deer. She walked right up to them and wanted to pet them.
The weather was actually perfect because it wasn't too hot. We got there right when it opened at 9am and it wasn't crowded at all. There were so many animals to see. We also saw a bird show.
We had such a great time and can't wait to return.

Animals

Here are a few of the animals we saw. I was so excited to see the hundreds of butterflies. The month of April they have over 50 kinds of butterflies flying around. My mom and I could not stop laughing because I was holding still hoping one would land on me.  This butterfly landed on my ear and I thought it was pretty funny.
A butterfly also landed on Jocelynn's sippy cup! James and Jocelynn didn't like it too much.
I thought this butterfly was beautiful!
I was amazed that the animals weren't in cages. This Lion was pretty close, although there was a big ditch that they would have to jump over.
These Gorillas were the first animals we saw.  I have to admit I was nervous because they were so close. It was neat to watch them walk around. There was a sign that said it was impolite to stare because they see it as a threat. I made sure I didn't make eye contact with any of them :)

Easter Bunny!

We took Jocelynn to see the Easter Bunny and she just loved him or her! I think the characters at Disneyland and Chik- Fil- A has helped! She kept saying "Hi Bunny rabbit!" She hugged him, kissed him and even walked around holding his hand!
I couldn't believe this was just last year! It's amazing how different and old she is in just one year!! She's grown up too fast!
Why does Santa have to be so scary? Look at her response to him? :) Poor thing. Maybe someday she'll like him when she realizes he brings presents :)

Happy Birthday Keona!!!

Happy Birthday Keona! I got Jocelynn singing it earlier but she was turned away from
me so I think this one is better, although she's in the bath!

My beautiful niece is 9 years old today! Jocelynn loves to play with her and we can't wait to see them in May!!! Happy Birthday!
