5 months

I'm always about a week late. He turned 5 months 12/30/10. But a week later is better then nothing. Here are some highlights during his 4th month
  • Got his second tooth (he has 2 bottoms in)
  • pushes up on his arms
  • started sitting up about 2 weeks ago for short periods
  • loves to chew his thumb
  • doesn't care to roll
  • loves to grab anything close to him or knock it down
  • loves high pitch voice
  • ate peas and green beans
  • takes 3 naps still
  • goes to bed at 8 or 9pm
  • was waking up once sometimes 2. What the heck?
  • Doesn't take a pacifier
  • Still breastfeeding
  • Most of the time happy
Jocie wanted to print a picture out also. Loving this age except for fighting naps. She cracks us up with all she has to say. She loves to sing on a microphone I'll have to catch her one of these times.
She loves her brother so much. She always tells me that she doesn't want him to go back in my tummy. I constantly have to tell her, he's not. He's here to stay. He always seems to look at her like she's crazy. It's funny.
Sweet boy after a bath.

Got this jumper for Christmas at the Mommy store. He loves it. Jocie loves to push him. It'll be better when he can touch the floor. Better go! He just woke up from a nap.

Preschool Christmas Program

Jocelynn's preschool had a little Christmas program. It was short and sweet. They just sang a couple songs. I could see her little lips moving.
I really like Jocelynn's preschool. Her teacher has so much enthusiasm. I love it. This works out well because we will be living a couple streets away from preschool! Woo HOO!

Cousins

I watched Preston and Christian a couple weeks ago. It was such a beautiful day out. We went to the grass area by our place and played ball and the kids enjoyed raking the leaves. I love children and enjoy taking care of them. We had a great day and Jocelynn enjoyed having friends all day to play with.

The boys playing with play dough!
Sweet cousins. They are 8 months apart. They tend to get into arguments because they are so close in age. It's really cute. They either play so well or are fighting. :)

Naps?

Sleep? Where do I begin? After Carter was born, not sure what happened but sleep was non existent for everyone in the house, including Jocelynn. My good sleeper, all of a sudden was horrible. I mean. . . .horrible. Waking up every couple hours, like a newborn, fighting going to bed at night, fighting naps. From the time Carter was 6 weeks to about 3 months was the longest 6 weeks ever! People say around 3 years old when naps start to diminish and she started fighting it but then she should be ready for bed early then right? Wrong! She would still fight it.

Looking back, I think she had a hard time adjusting. One night after feeding Carter I woke up and we were both asleep hugging in my bed. I have no idea when she crawled in. At night she would throw tantrums to go in her bed. Maybe she saw Carter and wanted to be with us also. Who knows? Then I thought maybe I was giving her everything because I didn't want her to feel left out with the new baby so that's why she is fighting bed time. At night she would wake up and say she needed this and that. Anything she could think of. I'd give it to her and she'd go back to bed but be up in 2 hours wanting something else. I finally started saying no and that helped. It's a mystery? I cried a lot those weeks and had no energy or patience during the day. Finally after some consistency, she is back. I decided that she still needs nap or "quiet time" everyday from 12-130pm. It was too hard not letting her nap one day but the next day making her. She would refuse even if she needed it. I just decided if she continues to nap everyday, even if she wasn't tired, then on the days she is tired there won't be a problem. The days she's not tired she has to go back in her room and color or read. It has worked really well and she still naps about 4 times a week. It's amazing how different her behavior has been now. So happy more sleep is happening around here. I better knock on wood :)
