Children's Museum with Grandma

On Friday, we went to the Children's Museum with Grandma in La Habra. She lives a couple blocks away from it and asked if we wanted to go. Jocelynn had so much fun. There was so much to look at. She went on the carousel and my grandma picked this outfit for her when we went into the other countries. Jocelynn loved seeing all the animals!
There was an area to cook and wash clothes and dry them. Her and my grandma have great conversations. I love it because Jocelynn loves her great grandma! Grandma just took a bite out of this apple, I think she was telling Jocelynn it's sour :)
She loved to go grocery shopping and pick out her food. Afterwards, we went to grandma's for lunch! We had a great time!

Baby Signing Time

My good friend, Melinda started teaching her daughter sign language when she was a baby. I couldn't believe Rylin's communication and vocabulary when she was one. When I was pregnant with Jocelynn I decided I wanted to do the same thing. I started when she was 3 months old and the DVDs are called "Baby Signing Time." She loved to watch it. When she was 8 months old I remember putting her to bed and she signed to me "Eat." I said "James she just signed to me!!" It was amazing! Throughout the months we have gotten more DVDs and she loves them and now knows over 30 signs. I have an aunt and uncle that are deaf and a cousin. It has been so great for me also to learn. I have taken a class, read books but nothing has been as great as these DVDs. I definitely recommend it!  This was her a couple months ago, showing me some signs.

Jocelynn

I realize that this blog hasn't really been the "Ward Family." It has been more about Jocelynn. When I first started this I did it with the intentions of keeping my sister and James's  family updated with Jocelynn and what they don't get to see of her since they live far away. I apologize if I sound like a bragging, annoying mom. Those really aren't my intentions. I hold back with talking about her because I don't want to come across that way. I think though I need to do what my intentions were.

Ok. This has been my favorite age. She is not a baby anymore and loves to be outside. Don't get me wrong, I loved holding her but it's a lot more demanding, at least she was. Every morning we are gone out of the house, come back for lunch and to nap and then off again. She loves the park and we go there a couple times a week. She loves the slide and has learned how to go down it herself. You can tell from the picture above that she loves it. When she goes down, she says "So Fun!"
Jocelynn loves my jewerly armoire. She goes in it all the time and gets necklaces and bracelets. In this picture she even got earrings that I hung on her ears. She was very excited! She now says "So Toot (for so cute!)" She really is so cute!

Since Jocelynn was born I tried so many different ways to help her relax to get sleepy. After 6 months we got a routine going and I found what got her sleepy. I would read to her and get her blanket and walk around the room, then sit down. Sounds ridiculous but it worked for her everytime and it took 10 minutes. Just recently, she has just wanted to be put down so I do. I told James "I never got a picture of me holding her asleep! So I did it one more time for memories!!

All you need is sand, shovel, and bucket . . .

Saturday we went to the beach. Jocelynn spent a long time using her shovel to put sand in her bucket and then dumping it out again. This process was repeated a lot. She loved the sand and chasing the birds, although she kept falling because of the sand. It was cold but I can't wait until the summer.

Does anyone know of a site that I can download my blog into an album? I heard Blurb you have to download page by page now. I started this album so James' family and my sister can see Jocelynn grow. I also did this wanting to make it into an album! THanks!

FUNNY!

The past couple of weeks that has been Jocelynn's favorite word to say! It cracks us up everytime she says it because she laughs a little and then will say "So funny." It's great that everything is so funny to her. A dog barking, seeing a baby, listening to music and of course her daddy! When I hear her in her crib talking after a nap I just love to hear the sound, especially when she is laughing so hard and saying "Dada FUNNY!" Someday I know she won't think her parents are funny anymore but for now I love that she thinks we are hilarious!
