Hard to believe my little girl is 3. She knew her birthday was close and kept asking if she was 3 yet. The night before I decorated where she would eat breakfast with princess paper dolls and placemat. She wore a birthday hat and was really excited. I made homemade waffles, her favorite with whip cream and strawberries.
The Friday before she had preschool and I made cupcakes to bring to her class. They sang Happy Birthday to her. Although, she is shy she loves the attention. The also did a birthday march around the room and she was in the front. Last year was the first year I wrote her a letter. I wrote her another letter this year and so is her dad. We decided every year to do this and when she turns 18 this will be a great thing to give her in a book to see over the years how much we love her and all the things she learned that year. It's amazing though as soon as she turned 3 the attitude has started. 2 was a great year and hopefully 3 will be even better.
