James in Seattle

James's new responsibilities at work require him to travel about 4 times a year. He's already had to leave twice already. He left Saturday for Seattle and comes back tonight. This is at a conference where he was in charge of the booth.

He is excited for new experiences and we are so proud of him!

Glen Ivy- Happy Birthday to Me!

I have the most thoughtful, considerate husband. I really am lucky. He has always done good on my birthdays, way more then I expect. I wasn't looking forward to my birthday this year for 3 reasons 1.) It's on a Sunday- which means church and hang out at home 2.) Disneyland - everyone else gets a $70 gift card but because I'm blocked this day, won't happen 3.) James would be in Seattle for another business trip. He told me the beginning this week not to have anything planned on Saturday. He later told me my sister Jessica and her husband, Keven were watching Jocelynn. I was excited. Friday he told me he scheduled a day for me at Glen Ivy. I haven't been there and have wanted to go. I have gotten a total of 5 massages and 1 facial my whole life. I have to admit, it's my favorite thing in the whole world. It's so relaxing. He scheduled a 50 minute Swedish massage, 50 minute manicure and 80 minute pedicure. Would I ever get that for myself? No but he did and I was super excited.

I got there at 9:30am (first appointment at 10am) and I couldn't believe there was a line. This was supposed to be relaxing. There is nothing relaxing about staying in line. I went straight to get my Swedish massage, another line and chaos. What? The massage was incredible. I did not enjoy someone in the room next to me talking so loud. I just want to crack up when it is over and the therapist asks how you're doing and I can never think straight! I could not believe how big this place was. So many pools, and places to relax. I walked around a bit and got a cookie and went to my next appointment. The pedicure and manicure was amazing. The women said there were 970 people there! Holy cow. I'm glad I didn't get a pass to the pools and mud baths because there were too many people there and it seemed kind of gross. I got out at two.
Here's the lounge pool.
So many people doing a yoga class.
Mud bath.
So after my appointments I went to lay out and get something to eat. Here's the line! I decided to shower and I took the longest shower ever. It was so nice. When I came out the line was gone.
I found a quiet place to relax for a little.
Here's my salad I ate before heading home. It was wonderful, Pecans, strawberries, celery, cheese, chicken. I had the best day! Thanks James for a wonderful birthday! I miss u but I appreciate all you do for us. Thanks Jess and Keven for watching Jocelynn!

Swimming Lessons

For the past two weeks, we have been going to the pool from 10:25pm-10:55pm. We go there straight from the gym so it has been busy in the morning, getting everything ready. Has Jocelynn enjoyed it . . . . No. I wish I could say yes, and that she was born to swim but it's going to take practice and getting used to. She has never liked the water. I take that back, she likes it if she is comfortable and doing what she likes to do. She likes putting her feet in and splashing around but don't ask her to blow bubbles.

Last summer we went in the pool all the time. I dunked her a few times. She didn't mind but the year has passed and so has going in the pool so by the end of the summer I can expect she'll like it and then we'll have to start over next summer.
She was fine until last Thursday and the instructor had us do ring around the rosies. Poor thing didn't know what was coming and went down. She hated it. SO when Monday came, anything the instructor said, she didn't trust and so she began crying. These are pictures of the last class. She didn't cry too much but you can tell she'd rather do something else. My mom came yesterday and as soon as she saw Grandma she started kicking, splashing and showing off. I started laughing because that's not how it usually is. I know she can do it. . . she just doesn't want to.
She did very good holding on to the side. She even let the instructor play with her a little.
She did good though and we're proud of her. She can kick, do monster arms, were working on blowing bubbles, and floating on her back.
She loved the end today as you can see. The Lollipop she loves and she got her own certificate. I love the crooked sunglasses too!

Beach and Ruby's Ice Cream

Last Friday, before my sister and her family went back to Wyoming we went to the beach for the day. It was cold, of course, and the sun came out before we left. It didn't stop the kids from playing in the water.
This is by the playground and Jordyn is at the top.
Jocelynn is sitting with the white sweater in this picture. If you look at the sand you can see that she scooted all the way down to the water.
JOcelynn decided after I was in the sand that she wanted to be buried too, until we covered her leg and she realized she couldn't move it. :)
The kids thought it was fun to see me buried in the sand.
Grandma and Jocelynn
Jocelynn playing with her sifter in the sand.
Before we headed home, we walked on the pier and had ice cream at Ruby's. Yum!

This really made me laugh. Jocelynn was exhausted after the day at the beach but she was so hyper and would not stop talking. She was so excited that Jordyn and Micah were coming home with us. She was buggin Micah because she would not stop talking to him. At the end of this she closed her eyes and fell asleep. One minute she is talking and then her eyelids got real heavy when she blinked and she was gone!!

High School Musical - Candelight Pavilion

My sister Jamie and my niece Jordyn

My mom took us to see High School Musical (the play). It was very nice and a lot of fun. My niece loves High School Musical so it was fun to experience this with her. The food was wonderful. They first served salad and then we got to choose from several entrees. I got Teriyaki pineapple Tri Tip (slow cooked) with Papaya Cream sauce. It was so good. My mom and I shared strawberries and chocolate with vanilla ice cream over a brownie. THat was wonderful too.
I loved the energy at the play. The songs were great and the lead girl, Gabriella plays Jasmine at Disneyland's Aladdin (at California Adventure). She has an amazing voice. I loved watching Jordyn. She loves High School Musical. Thanks mom for a fun night!!

Where a Kid can Be a Kid! Happy B-Day Dylan!

This is my nephew Dylan. Always a happy boy! He's so cute. He turned 4 and we had his Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. When he was a couple days old my sister and her family moved to Wyoming. They were down for a couple weeks so it was nice to celebrate his birthday. He is with my grandma in this picture!
Jocelynn didn't like the characters on stage. She wanted to hold tight to Jordyn. Jordyn is like a little mother, always caring and watching over her. The characters are a little creepy though. They stare right at you and then look somewhere else but their bodies don't move.
Jocelynn's buddy and cousin Tyler. She loves him!
She really enjoyed this horse. She went on it about 5 times.
She cracks me up when we take pictures now because she says Cheese and gives me a fake smile!
This tractor was another favorite.

Santa Ana Zoo

Monday my mom and I took Jamie's kids to the Santa Ana Zoo. There's not a lot of animals but it was perfect! There were enough animals to get the kids excited, the right price ($5) and it's not crowded. It was so fun! Jocelynn wanted to feed the goats. I was surprised how brave she was.
There were a lot of turtles and birds.

There were fake animals to climb on. There were a lot of monkeys and they were fun to see. I'm thinking about getting an annual pass. It was a great day.

Mama. . .it's raining!

I love hearing Jocelynn talk. It has always been funny hearing her communicate because she is so little. She tells me what she wants, doesn't like, or her random thoughts. I try to get it on tape as much as possible because I know someday I will miss that little voice.

Last night I was eating grapes and she was sitting in front of me. I was showing her to bite it in half instead of putting the whole thing in her mouth. As I bit it, juice squirted all over her face. She covered her head and said "Mama, it's raining!" She can always make me laugh!!

This is cute too. Jocelynn has been playing with her cousins and following Jordyn everywhere. Jordyn was running up the stairs and you hear Jocelynn trying to keep up and yelling "Jordyn. . . wait!!!" Sometimes I don't think she knows what words mean and then she'll use them in a sentence.

We miss you!

This is JOcelynn's buddy. She misses Keona and says today "I wanna see Keona." Hopefully we'll see her again soon. She had a blast with her around, as you can see from the pictures. We are going to miss her too.
I had to take pictures of her hair because it is gorgeous. Although, it would be tough taking care of this everyday, I loved it the past couple of weeks. It was like playing with a doll.
We had a great time with you here Keona and can't wait till you come again.

Balboa Beach!

Although it was cold, we went to the beach. We had a great time. This is my sister and her family. It was a lot warmer then we thought it would be and it didn't stop the kids from playing in the water. For lunch, we walked on the pier and ate at Rubys.
There were a lot of people fishing and they caught a lot of fish.
We saw a lot of dolphins swimming by!

Feeding the Ducks

This is a place by our house that I've taken Jocelynn to several times and I thought the girls would like it also. There are a ton of ducks and fish. We've also seen a turtle. They had a good time.
